Scheduled for a January 2017 launch, reviews for the Tata Hexa are positive, with loads of slick features, robust exteriors and a good price in India.

Tata Motors and Sports Utility Vehicles go hand in hand, with the roots being traced back to 1991, with the launch of the Sierra, which was an absolute rage back then. Then came the Sumo in 1994, and Safari in 1998, followed with their facelifted versions in the mid-2000s, till recently in 2015. All of them were best sellers, catapulting Tata Motors’ image into an SUV-making specialist with mass appeal.

For FY2015–16, Tata Motors recorded annual sales of Rs. 80,684 crores, which is way above most of the leading car manufacturers in India. Earlier in 2016, the company launched its ‘Impact Design Technology’ crossover SUV in two crucial motor events — the Geneva Motor Show and the India Auto Expo 2016. The response was quite positive, with loads of inquiries and appreciation for its muscular design and polished interiors.

However, the Tata Hexa is not the first vehicle to feature the ‘Impact Design Technology’. On April 4, 2016, Tata launched its premium hatchback, Tiago, which marked the beginning of the ‘Impact Design Philosophy’. Moreover, the company signed legendary footballer, Lionel Messi as the global brand ambassador for Tiago.

This clearly proves that when the auto-maker launches a new vehicle, you have no choice but to take note of it. Here is a review of the Tata Hexa, with a look at some of its standout features.

Why Should You Book this SUV Away?

Although this vehicle might look like a facelift version of the Aria, the upgrades and additional features make it very different in terms of engineering and design.

When it comes to the exteriors, the Indian vehicle manufacturer has pretty much nailed it. There are attractive character lines on the bonnet that exude a commanding appeal. It has a glossy black chrome grille and a heavy bumper, coupled with fog lamps and daytime running LED lights. Besides this, there are projector headlamps with DRLs, a plastic cladding at the lower portion, 19-inch alloy wheels, horizontal LED tail lamps at the rear end, and a chrome accent surrounding the tail gate.

Given the Tata Hexa’s price in India, the interior profiling has been done meticulously. There is immense cabin space, with good leg room and leather upholstery. The steering wheel is uniquely designed, with audio controls and other multi-functional switches. The center console looks elegant and boasts an infotainment system, including a touchscreen device with navigation, powerful 10-speaker JBL Audio System with CD player and connectivity options such as USB, auxiliary ports, and Bluetooth.
